Nexus451 was started in 2002 by Niall Curran and Mick O’Dwyer in Dublin, Ireland.
Niall had come from a background in programming, sales management and business development. Mick came from a background in photography, design and advertising. Both met while working at a web development company in 2000, and by 2002 they had made a decision to run their own company.
Initially Nexus451 focussed on building high quality brochure sites for small to medium sized companies, but this quickly developed to building eCommerce sites for the travel industry. As the company grew it rapidly gained a reputation for providing attractive, intuitive front-end interfaces for users to interact with high volumes of information in a way that was seamless.
In 2007 Nexus451 changed direction away from ecommerce sites to providing business process consultancy and integrated information solutions. It had become apparent that this was where our strengths lay: providing technology focussed analysis, architecting integrated information solutions and designing information flows to increase business effectiveness. This had led to Nexus451 building bespoke applications for the insurance, wealth management, and energy sectors.
With the idea of Cloud Computing gaining traction Nexus451 was quick to see the benefits of utilising various platforms as a service: reducing IT overheads, increasing efficiencies, and providing better, quicker access to information. We have always believed in looking at new technology models with a keen eye towards the benefits they could offer our customers, by doing so we become trusted partners and a part of their business consultation process.
Since late 2009 Nexus451 has targeted the UK market, and we have made significant inroads towards establishing a base in the Midlands. In 2010/11 the aim is to expand the team in Ireland and consolidate our presence in the UK as a first class business partner for firms looking to improve business processes through integrated cloud computing solutions.
